Senior Design Project
Oregon State University
This is my current design project - a work in progress. By the end, the sponsor wants a human powered merry-go-round powered by a rowing stroke. The focus is on ergonomics and the ‘fun factor’ for kids.
The project is officially finished! It came out great - we are all extremely happy with it. The final tests were the last assignments for college. I’m graduated!
New pictures have been added, which detail some manufacturing, test fitting, and initial testing of the merry-go-round. I’ve also added a few videos of the testing.

Human Powered Water Still
ME 382 Design Project
Oregon State University
My group designed a human powered water still as part of a national design competition. The object was to make a machine that would boil and condense water with only human input. The idea is that a system like this would be deployed in rural Africa, where clean water is scarce and unsanitary.
We decided to design a bike frame to pedal-power a small generator, which sent power through resistance wire and boiled the water. The system worked so well that we began to melt our water container! In one hour we boiled and condensed nearly 200mL.
Photos to come! (Sorry, my computer got stolen and I lost some files...)
ENGR 248 Term Project
Oregon State University
This project was to model a toy tractor and design an end piece that goes on the end of the boom. I designed a simple logging attachment that is cuts trees down. This is a relatively simple project, but it sparked my interest in toy design.
